Italian 258
The Italian government started a research collection of all of the best figs grown in Italy.
Italian 258 has risen to the top as one of the best figs of the world.
It is also known as I-258 and Genovese Nero AF.
I grow both and keep their names separate but I believe these to be the exact same fig trees.
I-258 is a late fig. This did ripen outdoor without an early start here in Michigan.
Most of the figs on the tree will not ripen in Michigan without an early start.
Below are many Genovese Nero that I believe are the exact same fig tree that were ripened under LED lights.
